I find these live home recordings of the Villagers to be much stronger than their album versions. Lead singer, Conor O’Brien, has a voice that is varied and sincere and in such a simplistic setting it gets the attention it deserves.
Although a repetitive melody, (nearly just one finger-picking set) it actually helps brings focus to subtlety of the song progression. You can find half a dozen others on youtube, all likely recorded in their hometown,
